Felixstowe stabbing: Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two women attacked in Suffolk

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two women were stabbed in Suffolk in the early hours of New Year's Day.

Police were called to reports of a double stabbing at a property on Mill Lane in Felixstowe shortly after 2am on Wednesday.

A 33-year-old woman was found with a serious knife wound to her stomach and a 44-year-old woman had been stabbed in her shoulder.

Both victims were taken to Ipswich hospital for treatment.

The first is in a serious but stable condition while the 44-year-old woman has been released, Suffolk Police said.

Police have arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder.

A cordon remains in place at the property.
