Felipe and Danilo showcase Nottingham Forest bond with Keylor Navas joke

Nottingham Forest duo Felipe and Danilo are clearly huge fans of Keylor Navas.

The trio all arrived at the Reds in January and have been a key part of Steve Cooper’s side in Forest’s bid for survival. Navas has been ever-present, while Felipe has been another mainstay in defence and Danilo has also claimed a midfield berth in recent weeks.

It was a coup when Forest were able to land the experienced Navas, who had spent the first half of the season as Gianluigi Donnarumma’s backup at PSG. The three-time Champions League winner swooped in to replace the injured Dean Henderson in goal and has already produced several heroic performances for the Reds.

The 36-year-old celebrated reaching 18 million followers on Instagram by raffling off one of his Forest shirts. Navas encouraged his supporters to like the post and tag a friend to enter the competition, which prompted tongue-in-cheek responses from both Felips and Danilo on social media.

In the comments section. Forest fans would have spotted both Felipe and Danilo entering the competition by mentioning each other and doubling their chances of winning by tagging Forest teammate Renan Lodi. There is a growing South American contingent at the City Ground, with Gustavo Scarpa also joining former Palmeiras teammate Danilo at the club.

Supporters have just under a week remaining to rival Felipe and Danilo for Navas’ shirt, with the goalkeeper set to announce the winner on his Instagram story next week.

Meanwhile, Forest will be focusing on their crucial home clash with Southampton on Bank Holiday Monday (May 8, 3pm kick-off). Forest have slipped back into the bottom three on goal difference, courtesy of Leicester’s draw with Everton, but the team could record a hugely valuable win over the Saints, who are currently six points adrift of safety.
