Féile an Phobail: Watch brilliant moment captured on video as teen showcases talent

The brilliant moment a North Belfast teenager impressively played the keyboard to thousands has been captured on video at Féile Dance Night.

Thomas McAuley (17) played Robert Miles - 'Children' to the crowd on Monday, August 8.

The night was part of West Belfast 's Féile an Phobail, Ireland's biggest community arts festival, as Timmy Trumpet feat. Bryan Kearney & John O’Callaghan took to the stage at Falls Park.

Hundreds from the crowd showed their support for the Belfast teen.

Thomas said he was "buzzing" to have thousands of people in the crowd watching him.

He said: “Before I got on stage I was nervous but when I sit I front of that piano and I let my hands go the nerves go away and it brings me into the moment. I felt amazing when I was on the stage.

"I was buzzing seeing the thousands of people watching me. Since I taught myself how to play piano when I was a kid I’ve visualised this in my head a thousand times.

"Elton John is my inspiration. I love playing my decks and I love trance music. I just love music, it allows me to express myself.”

The video shared on Twitter has now received nearly 3,000 likes and has been described as "incredible", with one user commenting: "Can't believe how wonderful this is - what a superstar you are."

A second said: "I've played this over a few times and it is pure gold, excellent young man, well done Thomas," while a third added: "Take a bow young man, take a bow."
