Six-time champion Roger Federer is out of the Australian Open after being defeated in four tense sets by 20-year-old Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The 14th-seeded Tsitsipas lost the first set to Federer before rebounding to win 6-7 (11-13), 7-6 (7-3), 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) on Rod Laver Arena.
It is Federer's earliest exit from the Australian Open since 2015. He was chasing a third-straight title in Melbourne.
"I'm the happiest man on Earth right now," Tsitsipas said in his courtside interview.
"I cannot describe it."
Tsitsipas said the victory meant so much to him, as he grew up idolising Federer.
"Roger is a legend of our sport. So much respect for him," he said.
"I have been analysing him since the age of six. It was a dream come true for me just been on Rod Laver (Arena), facing him.
"And winning at the end, there is no way I cannot describe it."
More to come.
