Fed up dad plagued by up to 60 calls a day from people looking for Scots council

A disgruntled dad says he is being plagued by up to 60 phone calls a day from people looking for a council.

George McCann has been inundated will calls from people who think his landline is a hotline for North Lanarkshire Council.

The dad, from Hamilton, said the calls have happened on and off for seven years – with previous attempts to fix the issue falling flat.

But the local authority says their probe has failed to identify why the callers are ringing him.

George, 47, said: “It can be 50-60 calls a day. My phone has been ringing non-stop.

"One morning I was getting a call every five minutes.”

George is now trying to change his number.

North Lanarkshire Council said: “We can confirm we don’t have this number listed for any of our services.”
