Feathered friends pay a surprise visit to sewing class

An Irvine sewing class couldn't believe it when a duck and her ducklings waddled into their studio.

Tutor Kelly Espindola and the keen seamstresses were busy working on their sewing machines when they saw the feathered friend arrive at the harbourside studio.

"We were all working at our machines when we heard a noise and when we turned round we saw the mum and her ducklings waddling into the studio," said Kelly.

"It was tempting to get up and try and help but we didn't want to give them a fright, I think they must have been looking for shade as it was hot outside.

"But quick thinking Stacy in the class slowly guided them out and helped them across the road to the water front.

"It certainly made for an interesting class."
