Fears Turkey could be added to quarantine list as others edge closer

Brits have flocked to Turkey in recent weeks as the country is one of few remaining on the government's "safe list" for travel.

But a rise in coronavirus cases has sparked fears that travel restrictions could soon be imposed in Turkey, which would require travellers to quarantine for 14 days on their return to the UK.

The government is due to announce the latest travel restrictions this afternoon, with Denmark expected to be added to the quarantine list, reports The Times.

Countries and territories can be taken off or added to the travel corridor list at any time.

The latest countries to be removed from the list on Saturday, September 12, were French Polynesia, Hungary, Reunion and Portugal except Azores and Madeira.

There are fears that Turkey could soon follow suit.
