Fears that two dogs are 'dangerously out of control' after vicious town attack

Police are investigating after two Staffordshire Bull Terriers attacked a member of the public after setting upon another dog.

Officers attended a 999 call in Godmanchester, near Cambridge, on Sunday afternoon.

The vicious attack came after the animals were seen running free in the quiet town.

Reports suggest two Staffies attacked another dog, leaving it with "significant injuries,", write the CambridgeNews.

A member of the public then tried to help the canine before being bitten by one of the Bull Terriers.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said they are investigating and called for anyone with information to come forward.

Officers are currently searching for the Staffies and their owner.

A spokesperson said: “We have raised a crime for an offence of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control, so we have an open investigation for that.

“If anyone has any information about the whereabouts of the staffies or the owner, we would very much like to hear from them.”

Anyone who has any information about the incident is encouraged to call 101 and quote incident number 215 of September 6.
