Fears sparked after police find empty baby pram with nappies and bottle on Taff Trail

An empty baby pram complete with nappies and a water bottle has sparked serious concern and a police hunt.

The find on the popular Cardiff to Brecon Taff Trail sparked concerns as the pram appeared to be in good working order and was left with nappies and a water bottle, as if it had very recently been used.

Officers were called to the Taff Trail in Abercynon on Monday following the discovery of the pram which was left in undergrowth.

An immediate search of the area surrounding the pram took place but nothing was found.

The discovery was described as "strange" by police, who believe it was there for at least 48 hours.

The navy and blue chequered pram was dressed with a white frilly blanket.

South Wales Police are now appealing for the owner or anybody who may know whose pram it is to make contact.

Local sergeant John Sullivan said: It’s obviously strange for it to be left the way it has and we just want to get to the bottom of why it’s there.

“There is the possibility that it may have been stolen and dumped there – we believe it’s been there for approximately 48 hours.

“We’re asking the person who left it there or anybody with information to get in touch.”

If the pram is yours or you recognise it, or have any information that could help police, call 101 and quote reference number 278956.
