Fears over jobs at Manchester Airport as firm behind cleaning and catering roles 'reviews its structure'

Jobs at Manchester Airport could be at risk as management firm Sodexo 'reviews its structure' at the hub.

The French food services and facilities management company - understood to employ 18 staff in hospitality and cleaning roles at the hub - has confirmed it is in consultation with workers.

The firm which has more than 428,000 employees and a presence in 80 countries, said the pandemic had had a 'significant impact' on the business.

A Sodexo spokesman added: "At Manchester Airport we need to review our current structure and the realistic demand for our services.

"We are consulting with our colleagues on the changes we are having to make and supporting them through this uncertain time. Until this process has concluded it would be inappropriate to comment further."

The Manchester Evening News asked Sodexo how the restructure might affect those working at Manchester Airport - and for more detail on the number of roles potentially at risk - but the firm declined to comment further.
