Huge police presence on street sparked by fears of serious domestic incident

A dramatic police operation was sparked by concerns following reports of a serious domestic incident.

A convoy of police cars - including marked and unmarked vehicles - were spotted lining up outside Walton Lane police station, Walton, at around 8pm on Thursday.

They then travelled in convoy - with blue lights flashing - before arriving on nearby Stoddart Road.

Images from the scene showed the vehicles on the residential street and a large group of officers congregated on the road.

The North West Ambulance Service also had a crew on the road, which is near Queens Drive.

Merseyside Police confirmed the huge police presence was prompted by reports of a domestic-related incident at a property on the street.

However, on arrival, officers spoke with the female occupant, who confirmed she was safe and well, and the operation was stood down.
