Fears mount after dad-of-four firefighter goes missing on Christmas pub crawl

Fears are mounting after a firefighter went missing during a Christmas pub crawl.

Police have issued an appeal after Anthony Knott disappeared, having been last seen at The Lamb pub in Lewes, East Sussex, on Friday (December 20).

The dad-of-four, also a semi-professional footballer, had been pub hopping with around a dozen colleagues, with his disappearance said to be "very out of character".

He could not be contacted from around 7.30pm onwards, reports the Sun Online .

Anthony is described as white, around 5 ft 8 with dark hair and was wearing a black long-sleeved top, dark denim jacket and dark jeans with black shoes.

Anthony Knott, who plays for Orpington Athletic, was in The Lamb Of Lewes (Sussex Police)

His distraught partner Lucy wrote on Facebook it is "very unusual behaviour" and that he would not intentionally stay away.

She said Anthony, of Orpington, Kent, has not used his bank card or phone since around 7.20pm on the night in question.

Lucy added that her partner is being considered as "high risk" while a family friend wrote "we all want him to come home".

A message on a missing poster urged Anthony to get in contact and talk "through what help you need".

Anyone who may have seen Anthony or who knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact Sussex Police  online  or by phoning 101, quoting serial 727 of 21/12.

Police also urge anyone who knows if Anthony is ill, injured or thought to be in danger to call 999 immediately.
