Have you seen Enola? Fears missing Wheaton Terrier could have been injured by car in Midlothian

Owners are distraught after a Wheaton Terrier dog went missing in Midlothian, with fears she could have been hit by a car.

Enola ran off during a walk near Mavisbank House, Loanhead around midday on Tuesday.

Drivers have been urged to keep an eye out for her and residents have been urged to check their gardens.

A driver reported hitting a similar dog nearby but it ran off afterwards.  Enola was wearing a black harness and white collar when she went missing.

Dog walker Lee Van Den Bosch wrote on Facebook: "Tonight I received a message to say that someone saw a car perhaps hit a dog that resembled Enola on the road from Lasswade as you enter Loanhead.

"The car stopped but the dog ran to the left into a lane or field. This happened about 12.30pm this afternoon.

"If you are that driver or saw anything please please get in touch or if you live nearby could you check your gardens and any spaces where Enola might go if she is frightened and perhaps injured. We’ve been out tonight looking but nothing as yet."
