Fears grow for the safety of missing Ayr man

Fears are growing for the safety of a missing Ayr man.

Police have made a public appeal to help find Michael Webster.

The 52-year-old was last seen on Wednesday, January 29.

Enquiries have established that he may have been in the Dingwall area of Ross-shire in the Highlands on Wednesday,  February 5.

He is described as being 6ft tall and of medium build with brown hair.

He currently lives in Ayr town centre and has previous links to both Dingwall and the Bath area in Somerset

Appealing for witnesses, Chief Inspector Brian Anderson, South Ayrshire area commander who is leading enquiries to trace Michael, said: "Michael is a keen walker and is known to camp out or sleep rough.

"However, we are concerned for him, particularly given the amount of time he has now been out of contact.

"I would urge anyone who has information about his whereabouts or who may have seen him to come forward. If Michael himself sees this then please get in touch to let us know you are safe and well.

"Anyone who can help can call 101, quoting incident 2450 of 5 February."
