A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We’re appealing for the public’s help in finding a 15-year-old girl who is missing from home.

"Sophie Francis was last seen in Cumbria at around 2pm on Saturday, 24 April, however it is believed she may have travelled to Merseyside.

"She is described as a white female, around 5ft 5in tall, of slim build, with long black hair, blue eyes and a Liverpool accent. She also has a scar on her forehead.

"When last seen, Sophie was wearing a black and red coat, pink jogging bottoms, a pink jumper and black Alexander McQueen trainers.

"She is known to frequent areas of Halewood, Kirkby, Kensington, Anfield, Everton, Kirkdale, Vauxhall, Edge Hill and Fairfield.

"We are becoming increasingly concerned for Sophie’s whereabouts and anyone who has seen her is asked to contact @MerPolCC, 101 or charity Missing People on 116 000."
