Fears for missing Scots pensioner, 78, as police describe disappearance as 'unusual'

Cops have launched an urgent search for a missing pensioner amid growing fears for her safety.

Aileen McInnes is believed to have left her Glasgow home in the in Corkerhill area at around 7.30am on Friday, December 17.

The 78-year-old is described as white, around 5ft 5ins in height and of medium build with long, brown hair.

The pensioner is known to frequent the shops along Paisley Road West and Silverburn Shopping Centre in Pollok.

Cops say it's 'unusual' for Aileen to be away from her home and there is concern for her welfare.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts are being urged to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "It is unusual for Aileen to be away from her home address for so long and her family are very concerned for her wellbeing and safety.

"Anyone who has seen her or who has any information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact officers through 1328 of 17 December."
