Fears of a feud within the Beckham family are growing after questions emerged over whether Brooklyn attended his father David’s 50th birthday celebrations in London.
The football icon is said to be “devastated” over an alleged rift between his two eldest sons, Brooklyn, 26, and Romeo, 22.
David and wife Victoria reportedly hired a £40 million Brigadier Global 6000 private jet for his birthday celebrations, spending the afternoon wine tasting at a vineyard in Bordeaux before dining at his favourite restaurant in Paris. The family later returned to London for a lavish birthday party, The Sun reports.
However, Brooklyn did not publicly wish his father a happy birthday on social media — the first time he has failed to do so.
A source said: “David had the most incredible day, and felt truly spoilt.
“The immediate family flew out from Oxford, spent the afternoon supping wines — even Harper had a little sip — and then jetted to Paris in the evening for dinner at one of his favourite restaurants. Victoria went all out.
“It was pretty much a perfect day, although sadly Brooklyn was unable to make it.”
The silence follows Brooklyn’s absence from Victoria’s birthday last month, when he and wife Nicola Peltz were seen partying at the Coachella music festival. Similarly, neither David nor Victoria posted congratulations online as Brooklyn and Nicola marked their third wedding anniversary.
Despite the tension, the source said there has been “some contact”, and both Brooklyn and Nicola were invited to David’s London birthday party — though they had not responded.
They added: “So it’s all very up in the air — there’s certainly a lot of tension there right now, but David just wants to focus on the positives, and what will be will be.”
The alleged rift comes after Brooklyn and Nicola missed a family dinner held in April ahead of David’s milestone birthday. Romeo and Cruz attended the gathering at Cipriani Downtown in Miami, joined by their girlfriends Kim Turnbull and Jackie Apostel, while Brooklyn and Nicola remained in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, TMZ has reported that Brooklyn and Romeo have fallen out over Romeo’s relationship with Kim Turnbull — who previously dated Brooklyn’s friend, Rocco Ritchie.
According to the Mail, the 50th birthday is just the latest of at least 11 family occasions Brooklyn is said to have missed.
