Fearne Cotton throws it back to the 90s as she poses with Mr Blobby for radio show

Fearne Cotton was stuck in the 90s in her latest Instagram photo as she posed beside fictional character Mr Blobby.

The radio host flashed a cheesy grin as she announced to her three million fans that BBC Sounds are hosting a sounds of the 90's show very soon.

Fearne, 38, was over the moon with the news, and posted a separate snap where she was seen posing with 90s character Mr Blobby, which she captioned: "#the90s".

She was clad in a corduroy pink suit, complete with flared trouser bottoms, which were inspired by that era of fashion.

The mum-of-two paired the power suit with a matching dusky pink T-shirt and Vans trainers - looking ultra cool.

Fearne pulled a face as she held the blow-up character on her knee.

The giant pink blancmange-like character was a huge part of TV in the 90s, and people loved it.

His shtick was to leave a trail of destruction as he bounced off people and inanimate objects in a seemingly constant state of over-excitement.

The bright pink character made his debut on Noel's House Party in 1992 and spawned a Christmas number one.

Mr Blobby shot straight to the top of the charts in 1993, keeping Meatloaf and Take That from victory.

The mischievous character was played by former Shakespearean actor Barry Killerby - but he was eventually out of a job after Blobby got caught-up in an on-stage brawl with a furious father.

The drama unfolded when Blobby thought it would be hilarious to throw a six-year-old girl's birthday cake on the floor at her party in Luton.

Her father pounced on stage in a fit of rage after his daughter burst into tears, and proceeded to pound the pink mischief-maker.

Barry made his final stint as Blobby on The Big Fat Quiz of the 90s to terrorise comedian Jack Whitehall, followed by an appearance on The Chatty Man Christmas Show in 2016.
