Fearne Cotton's brutal head injury after nasty accident at home

Fearne Cotton took to social media this morning to share a nasty-looking injury she sustained during an accident at home.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the former Celebrity Juice panellist showed off a purple bruise on the side of her head after she'd thumped her head as she busied herself with the laundry.

Fearne, 38, captioned the snap: "Great start to my day. Smashed my head whilst doing laundry.

"Happy Wednesday. #muststoprushing."

Fearne also gave fans a glimpse into her busy morning, taking on an exhausting cardio workout all before she'd even started work.

She's been working on a partnership with fitness app Fiit and trainer Adrienne Herbert.

Turning the camera to herself, her hair in an especially messy bun, the broadcaster said: "Good morning. Wow, look at this hair! Fantastic.

"So I've just squeezed in a 25 minute Fiit with Adrienne. It was a cardio one and it was...challenging, but in a good way!

"I'm sweating, I'm feeling good, ready for a day of meetings and work!"

Fearne's clearly got fitness on the mind, as the most recent episode of her podcast, Happy Place with Fearne Cotton, features the Body Coach - and her neighbour - Joe Wicks.

She wrote on Instagram: "On this week's Happy Place the podcast my neighbour @thebodycoach popped over for a cuppa and a big chat.

"I've know Joe for some time and have admired his work ethic and positivity when building his own business from scratch."

As a step mum, Fearne asked why step parents are so vilified in children's books (Instagram)

She's also recently raged on Twitter about children's books - and how they represent step-parents.

Fearne is step-mum to husband Jesse Wood's kids Arthur, 18, and Lola, 14.

She's also mum to two kids, who she shares with Jesse - seven year old Rex and four year old Honey.

She penned: "An author visited my son's school this week to read a new novel where once again the step mother featured as an evil character.

"Isn't it about time we represented children's fiction in a more positive way. I've been a step mum for 9 years now..."
