Fearne Cotton has discussed her past struggles with bulimia, revealing that she initially did not know she had an eating disorder.
In an Instagram post marking Eating Disorder Awareness Week, the 44-year-old opened up on her issues surrounding food, which she said began when she was a teenager.
“I didn’t know what that [bulimia] was. It was just something that I did in secret. And I didn't want anyone to know about it, and I certainly didn't see it as a problem, because that's where my mind had gone to.”
Cotton, who decided to seek help for the disorder, said therapy and speaking to others over the years has helped her. “It's certainly not something that needs to remain secret.”
