Fearless boy, 5, hikes along 623ft Sturrall cliff face - egged on by his dad

Taking it all in his stride, fearless Luke Miller walks along a ridge facing a terrifying drop either side.

At just five years old, it had been his ambition to climb the Sturrall, one of Ireland’s most frightening sea cliffs.

Tethered to his climbing instructor dad Iain, 48, Luke last month walked half a mile along the headland, not fazed by the sheer 623ft drop into the sea.

Iain, from County Donegal, said: “Luke has done some indoor climbing and practised on smaller cliffs, but the Sturrall was definitely his biggest achievement.

“The Sturrall is one of the most outstanding sea cliff features in Ireland, a true monster of headland.”

Iain, who filmed the climb, said: “Although the video looks dangerous, the actual ascent was very safe. There is no way I would put any five-year-old in any kind of dangerous situation.”

At the end of the video, Luke is heard asking his father in a bored voice: “Is it lunchtime?”
