Feargal McCrory is relishing the step up as he prepares to headline his first ever show.
The undefeated 26-year-old returns to action on Saturday, May 18 at the MHD Promotions 'Summer Brawl' event at the Europa Hotel.
McCrory claimed the Irish Lightweight belt with a thrilling win over Karl Kelly at the Ulster Hall back in February.
The Coalisland boxer will move back to to his natural super-featherweight division to take on the experienced Yesner Talvera (15-6-1) of Nicaragua in the main event on May 18.
Talvera has just relocated to Barcelona to try and carve out a name for himself having lost a close contest to the world rated Devis Boschiero in Italy.
“I always try and rotate the main event fighters to give them the valuable experience that this brings," said promoter Mark Dunlop.
"After Feargal’s last contest at the Ulster Hall in February he more than deserves the opportunity and he is grabbing it with both hands.
"The line-up is so talented that any one of them could fill the spot.
"It promises to be a great night of boxing and we can't wait for May 18. Feargal is certainly looking forward to it."
The exciting line-up also features the talented multiple champion James Tennyson who now campaigns at lightweight following a very successful career at featherweight and super-featherweight.

Meanwhile, Cathy McAleer returns for her third pro bout as she steps up to six rounds for the first time.
Big Tommy McCarthy will also look to start rebuilding following his unsuccessful attempt to lift the WBA Intercontinental cruiserweight title on Sky Sports in his last contest.
Dublin’s undefeated super-lightweight standout Victor Rabei completes the five-fight line up when he ventures North for the first time.
