'Rough sleeper' found with blade is on run from police

Police are appealing for your help to trace a man they want to see back behind bars.

Khalid Saif was jailed for 23 weeks after being caught with a bladed object following an incident in London last May.

The 43-year-old, from Tuebrook, is now wanted after breaching the terms of his release from prison.

Saif was locked up in November for possession of a bladed article in public.

Released after serving part of that sentence, he is now on the run after failing to comply with the conditions he was freed under.

A prison recall has been issued and officers are now hunting for him.

While he lives in Liverpool, they believe he may be sleeping rough in the London area.

Merseyside Police said Saif, originally from Syria, is 5ft 6in tall, of medium build, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who believes they have seen Saif recently is asked to contact Merseyside Police on Twitter (@MerPolCC) or by calling the force, quoting reference 2000047549, on 101.

They can also pass on information anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.
