Feared COVID case hospitalises Heat import

Mujeeb Ur Rahman is in a Queensland hospital, with a suspected case of COVID-19. (AAP)

Brisbane Heat import Mujeeb Ur Rahman has been taken to a Queensland hospital with a suspected case of COVID-19.

The Afghan spinner was in hotel quarantine on the Gold Coast in the lead-up to the BBL season start next week, arriving in Australia after his Indian Premier League stint with Kings XI Punjab.

It's understood the 19-year-old is one of three new coronavirus cases discovered in quarantine in Queensland.

If Ur Rahman's case is confirmed it's almost certain he'll miss the Heat's first two matches in Canberra as he stays in isolation.
