FDA recalls chocolate syrup over unlisted Viagra ingredient

  • Texas-based Lockout Supplements has issued a nationwide recall for its "Boner Bears" chocolate syrup due to the presence of an undeclared Viagra ingredient, sildenafil.
  • The recall was initiated after an FDA laboratory analysis confirmed the sexual enhancement product contained sildenafil, the active ingredient in the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra.
  • Sildenafil, when undeclared, poses a health risk as it can interact dangerously with nitrates in prescription drugs, potentially lowering blood pressure to hazardous levels for individuals with conditions like diabetes or heart disease.
  • The recall covers all lots of the 15-gram single-dose plastic tubes of chocolate syrup from January 1, 2025, to February 13, 2026, which were sold via the Lockout Supplements website.
  • Customers are advised to cease using the product immediately, consult a doctor if they experience any related issues, and can either dispose of the syrup or return it for a full refund.
