The vote of no confidence against Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu could be scheduled on the same day the Blaugrana face Real Madrid in El Clasico.
Barca have validated more than 16,521 of the signatures needed for the censure motion to prosper and a referendum will now take place, which could see Bartomeu and his board removed from their positions immediately.
"Pending the final closure of the validations process, this Wednesday, October 7, the cut-off of the 16,250 valid signatures necessary for the vote to succeed was exceeded," Barca said in a statement.
A vote will now be scheduled for later this month, somewhere between 10 and 20 days from the current date.
One of the leading representatives of the motion, Jordi Farre, told RAC1: "Our proposal is for the censure vote to be on October 24, the day of the Clasico against Real Madrid.
"And if it has to be over two days, them also on October 25."
Farre claimed that a member of the first team had been happy to see the total reached to force a vote of no confidence against the board.
"I'm aware that in the dressing room, someone is pleased," he told Cadena SER.
"Without going any further, we had the signature of the brother of a player from Barcelona's first team."
Meanwhile, Barca vice-president Jordi Cardoner has rejected reports that the board will resign.
"We are more united behind the president than ever," he said in a press conference.
In addition, Cadena SER claim that Barca have sent documents to the Civil Guard (Spanish police) in a bid to see the vote cancelled after irregularities with some of the signatures.
"That's bordering on the ridiculous," Farre said.
