To follow up on the strong start of the second week of Shapeshifters, EA FC 25 Ultimate Team received a new series of premium evolutions —The FUTTIES Countdown, El Buitre, and Gloves to Goals— ranging from 300 to 500K coins.
But although the saturation of expensive evolutions has been a divisive topic among the community, do any of the new evos justify their prices? Here’s whether or not The FUTTIES Countdown, El Buitre, and Gloves to Goals are even worth it in EA FC 25.
EA FC 25 The FUTTIES Countdown, El Buitre, And Gloves to Goals Evolutions, Explained
To start, The FUTTIES Countdown is a companion app exclusive evolution that can be applied to any up to 93-OVR on-field player with a maximum of 98 DRI and 94 PHY. Apart from buffs to various stats, the evo will also provide your chosen player with a 4-star SM/WF boost and a meta selection of PlayStyles+, including both Finesse and Low Driven Shot. El Buitre is then an evolution exclusive to the 94-rated Shapeshifters Icon Emilio Butragueño, who can be acquired by completing his SBC.
Last but not least, Gloves to Goals is a little different from the above and can only be used on the Gloves to Goals Icons Lev Yashin or Petr Čech. The evo can also be paired with a series of nine free evolutions available as part of its objective, which allow you to add the LW, RW, and ST positions to your chosen player, as well as give it a selection of six regular PlayStyles of your choice. Are Any Of The New Evos Worth It?
Given its non-player-locked nature, I believe The FUTTIES Countdown to be the only evolution among the above worth the investment, as you can use it to turn players like Gold Rare Mbappé into budget versions of 2.5M+ cards. If you cannot use Mbappé or other meta picks for it, however, save your currency for either future SBCs or the true end-game evolutions sure to surface in the coming months.
