FBI serves search warrants in corruption probe in Beaumont, sources say

April 22--The FBI is serving search warrants at Beaumont City Hall in connection with a public corruption probe, sources say.

An FBI spokeswoman confirmed that agents were assisting with the search warrants in Beaumont as well as at locations in Temecula and Palm Deserts.

Sources told the Los Angeles Times that the warrants were part of a public corruption investigation conducted by a Riverside-based task force.

Authorities said no arrests have been made.

Photographs taken by the San Bernardino Sun showed a conference room window covered with the California state flag in an attempt to prevent pictures from being taken of the search efforts.

The newspaper reported that investigators removed several boxes labeled Urban Logic Consultants Inc. from the offices.

John Hall, spokesman for the Riverside County district attorney's office, confirmed search warrants have been served at Beaumont City Hall and the Urban Logic office in Beaumont.

"Because this is an ongoing investigation, I will have no further comment at this time," Hall said.

According to the Urban Logic Consultants website, the Beaumont-based company offers urban planning, financing, wastewater engineering and construction services.

Calls to Urban Logic Consultants were not immediately returned.
