FBI seeks serial bank robber

March 06--Authorities are looking for a man dubbed the "Pick-a-Logo Bandit" who is suspected of carrying out three bank robberies in the city and suburbs since November.

The robber, named because of his habit of wearing a variety of jackets "each with a different logo on front,'' has robbed three U.S. Bank branches, one of them twice, according to a statement from the agency.

About 2:50 p.m. on Nov. 28 at the U.S. Bank branch, 3525 W. 63rd St., a man entered the bank, approached a bank employee to make a demand for money, and lifted his jacket in a manner that led the staffer to believe he had a weapon under the jacket, the FBI said.

On Jan. 3, a robber matching the description of the man who commited the November robbery held up the same bank. He operated in a "similar manner, this time lifting his jacket and revealing a handgun tucked in his waistband,'' according to the statement.

The latest heist happened Feb. 27, at another U.S. Bank branch, 4062 Southwest Highway in Hometown, when the robber took a gun from his waistband and pointed it in the direction of the bank employee from whom he demanded money, according to the FBI.

The Pick-a-Logo Bandit is believed to be a 25- to 30-year-old black man about 6 feet tall, with a thin build. He has worn a variety of hats in the heists, including a baseball cap or a knit cap.

The FBI is offering of up to $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of this man, who is considered armed and dangerous, according to the FBI.

No physical injures have been reported in any of the robberies.

Anyone who recognizes this man or knows where he is should call the FBI, 312-421-6700.
