FBI raids former office of Obama's new chief technology officer

FBI agents today raided the office of the District of Columbia chief technology officer after arresting an employee and a contractor for the agency.

The Washington Post reports that two men, Yusuf Acar and Sushil Bansal, were taken into custody in connection with a bribery investigation. Acar works for the city government and Bansal is president and chief executive of a technology contractor that does business with the city technology office.

Last week President Barack Obama named as White House chief information officer Vivek Kundra, who had been Washington DC's chief technology officer.

Kundra hasn't been implicated, but the White House isn't saying much.

Asked for comment at the White House press briefing this afternoon, spokesman Robert Gibbs directed reporters to the justice department, and ducked follow-up questions.

"Obviously it's a serious matter," he said.
