FaZe Vegas finally ended their championship drought as they doused the red-hot OpTic Texas, 4-1, in the grand final to clinch the 2026 Call of Duty League (CDL) Stage 2 Major trophy at DreamHack Birmingham.
It was the first trophy for FaZe Clan since the CDL Major 2 last season when they were still representing the city of Atlanta. With their latest victory, the squad grabbed the $150,000 top prize along with 100 CDL points, boosting their bid to secure a spot in the CoD Champs this year.
After finishing as sixth seed from the qualifiers and dropping down to the lower bracket, the Simp-led FaZe shocked the streaking OpTic with a dominant performance in the title showdown. Reigning world champions OpTic have now lost two consecutive CDL Major finals following their Stage 1 defeat to Paris Gentle Mates.

FaZe Vegas vs. OpTic Texas match recap and stats

FaZe first ditched Toronto KOI, 3-1, in the lower bracket final to set up a rematch against OpTic, who only lost a single map (against FaZe in their UB final match) during their scorching upper bracket run in Major 2.
The Las Vegas-based squad leaned on solid team effort spearheaded by Drazah to draw first blood in the grand final. FaZe pulled away from a tight early battle starting on P3 en route to a 250-184 win in the opening Hardpoint on Colossus.

OpTic evened out the series with Shotzzy heating up in Search & Destroy on Raid. The three-time world champion fired 13 kills, 10 of those non-traded, as the Green Wall took five straight maps for an easy 6-2 victory.

Simp and 04 led FaZe’s aggression to seize a 3-0 halftime lead in Overload on Scar. But Dashy and Huke stepped up to enable OpTic to claw their way back and force an overtime.
With EMP control on their hands, FaZe outplayed OpTic in OT as Abuzah picked up two clutch kills to close out the third map and give the series lead back to his squad.

04 and Simp took charge on map 4 of Hardpoint on Exposure, scoring 35 and 31 kills respectively, to power FaZe’s comeback and bring them to championship point. FaZe erased an early 41-120 deficit and kept a tight grip on P5 to nab the 250-207 win.

Mercules and Shotzzy kept OpTic’s title hopes alive, hitting big kills to give their team a 5-4 advantage in Search & Destroy on Exposure. But once again, the Green Wall crumbled when it mattered most, as FaZe stole two straight rounds to seal the CDL Major 2 title.
04 secured the Major 2 MVP award after capping off his tournament-long brilliance with a stellar grand final performance. He tallied 1.4 K/D built on 118 total kills, alongside 13,070 total damage dealt.
