FaZe bench broky, loan 20-year-old JBOEN from BIG

FaZe Clan have confirmed the removal of Helvijs “broky” Saukants from their Counter-Strike roster, ending the Latvian’s second stint with the team. In his stead, FaZe have loaned 20-year-old BIG Academy star Jason “JBOEN” Boe Nielsen as their new AWPer. The Dane is coming off of a brilliant streak of performances across Tier-2, averaging a 1.21 rating in the last three months.

Broky’s extra year on FaZe comes to an end

Had s1mple’s stint with FaZe concluded with a buyout, broky would have departed from the squad following the 2025 CS2 Austin Major itself. Afterall across the North American leg of that season, FaZe worked with the Ukrainian sniper instead to devastating effect. The team not only made top eight at the Major itself, but s1mple himself was looking set to build back to his peak level if given time on the team.

Unfortunately FaZe decided against securing the services of the AWPer for the long term, instead bringing back broky to the roster. While the Latvian did look better after returning to the roster, very quickly his position started to look untenable again. That was especially the case due to FaZe also attempting to accommodate Jakub “jcobbb” Pietruszewski. A temporary peak at StarLadder Budapest, which say FaZe make the major finals, bought the roster more time, but their eventual failure to qualify for the IEM Cologne Major finally broke the camels back.

Finn “karrigan” Andersen soon left the roster for Falcons’ superteam, and FaZe made do with a stand-in while trying to keep themselves afloat in the VRS ranks. Now that the off-season has truly kicked-in, FaZe have finally pulled the trigger to cut the 1.01 averaging AWPer for a potential upgrade.

FaZe JBOEN – One of the hottest prospects in Tier-2

Over the past 12 months, JBOEN has quickly emerged as one of the most promising prospects in Tier-2. His stint on BIG Academy saw him put up a 1.29 rating average on LAN, and the player received widespread praise from analysts and content creators during that time. JBOEN also competed in two events with the primary BIG roster, making back to back finals with a 1.11 average.

Moving to FaZe in 2026 is the perfect platform for the young player. Not only will he have the space on the AWP to truly showcase his skills. But the team’s coach Niclas “enkay J” Krumhorn has a proven record at elevating young talents. On top of that, given FaZe’s VRS ranking at the moment, the teams that the international squad will place aren’t far from the level JBOEN is used to playing at.

If he can establish himself on the roster, then the trio of him, David “frozen” Čerňanský, and IGL Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, will be enough to bring the legendary banner back to the top 10 at a minimum. But if broky’s own career is anything to go by, a young AWPer often needs an experienced IGL to flourish, and JBOEN will have his work cut out with FaZe in that regard.
