Fayette Urban County Government welcomes new County Clerk, Susan Lamb

Fayette County has a new administrator when it comes to local elections, land deeds, marriage licenses, and vehicle registration and taxation. The new county clerk moved from City Hall, not even a block away, to the Clerk’s office.

“We’ve got a unique journey in front of us. I have a lot to learn, but I am so thrilled to get to start this journey with each and every one of you all,” said Lamb.

Susan Lamb offered those comments to her staff right after being sworn into office by District Judge Lindsay Hughes-Thurston. Lamb has spent 35 years in local government, much of that in the city council clerk’s office.

“I come from a strong non-partisan background from being on Urban County Council for eight years. I take that very seriously. And I want to work with everyone here. And I will always do that,” said Lamb.

Lamb went on to say that what is needed to build community is working with everyone. Lamb takes over for Don Blevins whom she says along with his father Don senior did a phenomenal job running the clerk’s office.
