Fayette County schools will not be in session Monday because of widespread illness among students and staff. Schools in Lexington were already scheduled to be closed for Election Day on Tuesday. Both Monday and Tuesday are days off, not NTI days. During the two-day break, custodial staff will conduct a deep cleaning of campuses, classrooms, and facilities. Madison and Clark County schools were shut down last week along with at least a dozen other districts across the Commonwealth.
