Faye Tozer admits Strictly Come Dancing has been 'tough' on her marriage

Performing on Strictly Come Dancing has put a strain on Faye Tozer’s marriage, the star has revealed.

Tozer, a member of the group steps, has said that taking time away from her husband is “tough”.

The comments came amid rumours the 43-year-old had been hit by the so-called Strictly curse, sparked by pictures of her and her dance partner out at lunch together.

Some speculated on the intimacy of the situation, with one image appearing to show dancer Giovanni Pernice feeding her.

However, Tozer was quick to dismiss any such idea and told the Sun: “I can feed myself thank you very much. But I had a bit of salad on my face so he took it off and that was it.

“It was my birthday — it was the first time Giovanni actually took me out for lunch, bless him.”

She said her husband Michael knew about them going for food, so there was no issue.

However, she did add that she might struggle if the situation were the other way around.

“I sometimes even get jealous of his hairdresser,” she said.

“But I think that’s a healthy thing though, isn’t it? Because if you didn’t feel that for your other half then you wouldn’t care.

“It’s important to want each other and have that for each other.”

Commenting on the family situation Tozer, who has a nine-year-old son, said: “We’ve just got to keep really tight as a family unit and make sure we communicate — I think that’s the only way. But it is tough being away from home because we miss each other.”

Voicing her opinion on the Strictly curse, which saw Katya Jones and Seann Walsh controversially kiss earlier this year, she said she feels “if it’s going to happen, it’s going to happen anywhere”.

"It’s down to everyone’s individual circumstances, it really is," she said.
