Faye Brookes has recently ended her engagement to her longtime love Gareth Gates.
It has now been claimed the Coronation Street star had a fling with her co-star Sam Robertson during a two-week break from Gareth.
The actress, 32, was said to have had a brief romance with Sam while she took a break from seeing Gareth, according to The Sun.
A source told the newspaper: "It was the talk of the Coronation Street set when Faye and Sam hooked up.
"Her castmates were under the impression the break from Gareth was simply to do with feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to make wedding plans."
The insider added: "Sam was a good friend and a shoulder to cry on. Before they realised it, one thing had led to another. But Faye was keen to make things work with Gareth and put a halt to things with Sam going any further.
"She wanted to be honest with Gareth and confessed what had happened while they were apart. He thought he could get over it but, in the end, it was simply too much."

In recent weeks, Faye revealed she called off the wedding to Gareth just seven months after he proposed.
The newly single actress has already moved out of the lovenest they shared together as she appeared to be moving on from her ex.
Faye then broke her silence to deny she had a new boyfriend after she was spotted leaving the gym with a male friend.
In a revealing Twitter post, she wrote: "So (yesterday) there was a pap outside the gym when I got there, taking pictures of me & getting very excited with his camera because I walked in with one of the trainers from the gym – who is a friend."
She added: "Just let a girl be, please."
It was claimed the actress had broken things off with her long-time partner because he was trying to manage her sky-rocketing career after she made the decision to leave Corrie.
The singer had got down on one knee to propose with a £30,000 ring in January to claim her hand in marriage.
This isn't the first time the couple have split; they went their separate ways in September last year only to be reunited after four months apart.
