Fay Maschler’s week in food, from the Compasses Inn to a Gymkhana delivery

At my son Ben’s Compasses Inn in Wiltshire, pheasant with braised cabbage for dinner after a celebration of the life of Tom Maschler (RIP) – Hannah, Alice and Ben’s dad.  

 Nigella got the idea from Ash Sarkar. Beth and I follow her Fish Finger Bhorta, a spice and crunch  mash-up with marinated onions.

Delectable vegetable green curry with lemon pilau rice, part of Michelin-starred Pied à Terre’s Vegan Feast.  

 A Taco Party from El Pastor kicks off with Margaritas (spiced mango particularly transportive), moves on to tostadas piled with guacamole and marinated tuna, then tacos of infinite variety, short rib possibly the winner.  

Kid goat keema pao, one of many dishes from Gymkhana restaurant, sent from Ambassador General Store, the stylish delivery service of JKS, also owners of Trishna and Brigadiers.
