Former owner Fawaz Al Hasawi claims Nottingham Forest are in danger of being relegated if they don’t have a “strategy”.
The Kuwaiti sold the Reds to Evangelos Marinakis two years ago, and has given his views on his successor.
Al Hasawi says the club need to show “patience” when it comes to those in the City Ground hotseat, having axed Martin O’Neill on Friday.
O’Neill was given the boot little more than five months after taking the job and was quickly replaced by Sabri Lamouchi, who became the fourth permanent boss to have worked under Greek businessman Marinakis.
Al Hasawi himself oversaw plenty of managerial changes, but argues Forest should be spending money on signings rather than paying people off – with O’Neill reportedly receiving a £500,000 severance package.
“Where is the stability at the club? The owner needs patience with a manager and to show the fans the club has a strategy,” Al Hasawi told offthepitch.com.

“With no strategy Forest could be relegated into League One.
“I hope not as I love the club and would love to see them back in the Premier League one day.
“But the club is needlessly wasting millions of pounds that could be invested into the first-team.”
Al Hasawi also said he is interested in buying another club.
“I have learned a lot from my time at Forest,” he added. “If I buy another club I would be the owner only and not the owner and chairman, as I was at Forest.
“It is also vital to have the right people around you, with everyone pulling in the same direction.”
