Favourites to win the Championship: Odds for title contenders Leeds United, Fulham and West Brom - who will gain promotion?

Another high velocity weekend of Championship football is about to conclude and fans are still none the wiser on who will definitely take home the coveted prize of promotion next May.

From rags to riches, multi-million pound squads to shoe string penny sides, elite footballing icons to plucky underdogs - England’s second division remains as unpredictable as ever.

Coming off the back of one of the most competitive promotion pushes races in history, it’s incredibly difficult to call at this stage of the season - especially considering Leeds United were in such a strong position last season.

Regardless of pedigree, nobody truly knows what will happen, so all we can do is hazard a pretty educated guess.

That’s where thepools.com enter the fray, who have taken the liberty of weighing up the likelihood of each team to reign victorious in nine months time.

While Nottingham Forest fall just short of the list at 25/1, seventh favourites, here are the current favourites to win the Championship:

Leeds United - 11/10

Following a devastating end to the promotion challenge last time round, Marcelo Bielsa’s men have come back hungry and unwilling to let the opportunity slip again.

United have started the season fit and firing, scoring 10 goals in five games and conceding just two.

Fulham - 4/1

After flopping in the Premier League last season, the Cottagers are looking to bounce back at the first time of asking.

Fulham had a shaky start in the first couple of games, but it looks as if they are steadily building up speed and finding their feet again in one of the world’s most competitive football divisions.

West Brom - 9/1

The Baggies possess one of the strongest squads in the league and are one of the only remaining unbeaten sides in the division.

Despite nearly half of those results ending all square, West Brom seem to be safe bets to win the Championship and almost certain promotion contenders.

Bristol City - 16/1

Lee Johnson’s side were outside dark horses last season as well, and it seems they will take up that mantle this campaign.

They lost their first game of the season at the week but look extremely likely to compete with Swansea City, Cardiff City and West Brom ahead of the race for a top six finish.
