Favorite Spartans of All Time round two: Mateen Cleaves region

Hello and welcome to round two of our Favorite Spartans of All Time Tournament. The name is still terrible (and probably changed from the first round) but it’s still a pandemic out there and frankly, you and I have better things to worry about than thinking up a snappy name for this bracket challenge.

We had some upsets in round one, but the chalk held pretty steady across the board. That sets up a ton of big matchups in round two.

Let’s not waste any time and get into voting on the Mateen Cleaves region.

You can vote on the Magic Johnson region here.

You can vote on the Kirk Cousins region here.

You can vote on the Draymond Green region here.

No. 1 Mateen Cleaves vs. No. 8 Max Bullough

The top seed Mateen Cleaves moved into round two without much of a challenge. His opponent Max Bullough defeated his father Chuck in the battle of the Bulloughs in round one.

No. 2 Cassius Winston vs. No. 7 Mike Sadler

This is one heck of a 2 vs. 7 matchup. Mike Sadler was and is about as popular as a punter can get, but he’s going up against a buzzsaw two seed in Cassius Winston.

No. 4 Le’Veon Bell  vs. No. 5 Charlie Bell

The battle of the Bells! I didn’t even set this up. Honest. Le’Veon takes on Charlie for a spot in the Sweet 16.

No. 6 Shawn Respert vs. No. 14 Scott Skiles

Scott Skiles scored a big upset in round one. He was a drastically under-seeded 14 seed and took down an over-seed Drew Stanton. Shawn Respert cruised into round two and now looks to derail Skiles’ Cinderella run.
