A father who raped his daughter “almost daily” has been jailed for 14 years.
The man, who is in his thirties and from Warwickshire, started the abuse when the child was four years old and continued for three years.
He was arrested after his wife found video footage of him abusing the girl on his mobile phone.
After initially denying being the man in the video, he later confessed and was charged with rape, sexual assault, assault by penetration and taking indecent images of a child.
Judge Andrew Lockhart QC said it was one of the gravest cases he has had to consider.
“I must sentence you for the gravest of sexual offences against that young child. This behaviour was remarkably regular, taking place almost daily. There have been rape, upon rape, upon rape from the age of four,” he said, the Metro reported.
The man has been informed he will serve at least two-thirds of the sentence and will be on license when he is released.
