Father who died after falling from flat on Salisbury Road named

A man who died after falling from the window of a third-floor flat in Edinburgh has been named.

IT analyst Gordon Barr was found seriously injured on Salisbury Road in the early hours of Tuesday.

The 51-year-old was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he died shortly afterwards.

The Daily Record reports he is the sole director of an IT firm and has a son who works in the US.

His death is being treated as unexplained but is not thought to be suspicious.

A police spokeswoman said: "Police and emergency services attended and the man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. He sadly passed away a short time later.

"A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
