Ardal O’Hanlon’s Derry Girls cameo was a massive hit amongst viewers.
Delighted fans took to Twitter when the Father Ted star made an appearance on the hit comedy show.
The 53-year-old played Eamon son of Aunt Birdie who died at a family wedding after Ma Mary’s “curse”.
Creator Lisa McGee said on Twitter: “Its your Man! Meet Eamon. #DerryGirls. Tonight. C4. 9.15pm.

“Ardal O’Hanlon, Tommy Tiernan and Kevin McAleer in the one episode. 16-year-old comedy nerd me would never have believed it.”
Viewers were thrilled to see O’Hanlon and took to social media to voice their joy.
One person said: “@Derry_Girls Ardal O'Hanlon aka Father Dougal in tonight's episode. Brilliant.”
Another person said: “I love how they snuck in a Father Ted joke:
“"I'm gonna have to stop you there. No reason - I just really had to get you to stop you talking."
“Just before Ardal O'Hanlon came on. #DerryGirls”
A third person said: “A wedding, a wake, egg sandwiches, hash scones, Granda high as a kite, earrings stolen off the corpse & Erin’s scoots.
“Oh and Tommy Tiernan, Kevin McAleer & Ardal O’Hanlon in the same episode. Bloody brilliant. #DerryGirls”
The second series of Derry Girls is proving to be a huge hit with viewers.
After a hugely successful first series in 2018, the hit sitcom returned to critical acclaim earlier this month.
