The Father Ted musical is in workshop rehearsals for release later this year.
Musical collaborator Neil Hannon has revealed the show is "extremely entertaining" and almost ready to be revealed to the public.
Pope Ted - The Father Ted Musical is the latest work from co-creator Graham Linehan.
Last month he revealed that the first "mini performance" of the musical had taken place and he is predicting "a massive West End smash".
Hannon told BBC Radio 2's Michael Ball: "I've been very lucky to do the odd TV theme and the odd musical."
He joked that Ball would get in one of his musicals eventually and told him: "Bide your time. Father Ted. When we're doing the casting you'll have a fair shot. The musical is almost finished and writing wise we're in kind of in workshop now and it's going along well."
