Mandurah man admits murdering his girlfriend on New Year's Eve, weeks after baby girl was born

Police cordoned off the Aldgate Street home after the woman's body was discovered.

A West Australian man has pleaded guilty to murdering his teenage girlfriend, whose body was discovered on New Year's Eve in 2017.

The body of 19-year-old Christine D'Cruz was found in her Aldgate Street home in Mandurah, south of Perth.

Her partner, Junior Fayiah Carlos, was arrested at the scene and today pleaded guilty to her murder.

The couple had a baby girl who was just weeks old at the time.

Neighbours heard screams

WA Police said they were called to the house late in the afternoon.

Neighbours indicated the couple had lived at the property for about two years.

A resident, who asked not to be identified, reported hearing screaming at the house at the time of the attack.

The ABC was also told there had been previous incidents of apparent domestic violence at the property.

Supreme Court Justice Michael Corboy ordered that Carlos, who is now 27, be sentenced on October 31.
