Father dies in hospital, two days after his wife, following alleged attack by son in Perth home

A man has died in hospital, just two days after his wife, after the couple was allegedly subjected to a brutal attack by their son in a suburban Perth house.

Michael Wayne Taylor, 65, was rushed to hospital with critical injuries after he and his wife were allegedly attacked at the home on Lotherton Way in Hocking, north of Perth, on Sunday.

The pair was found with significant injuries and 64-year-old Lesley Ann Taylor died later that day.

Their son, 34-year-old Myles Taylor, was arrested by officers at the property late on Sunday afternoon.

He was charged with the murder of his mother and the attempted unlawful killing of his father.

Mr Taylor appeared briefly in the Northbridge Magistrates Court on Monday, April 27 and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Officers said the charges against Mr Taylor would now be reviewed, given the death of his father.

The investigation into the incident is continuing.

Police have urged anyone with information, or who may be able to assist, to contact Crime Stoppers.
