Father and son team race to rescue six sailors from sinking vessel

A father and son teamed up to help save six people from a sinking vessel in Florida amid hazardous weather conditions.

Footage shared by Osceola County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday (5 May) shows passengers putting on life vests and throwing items overboard after they realized the boat was going under.

The force received a 911 call from the distressed boaters, and a rescue operation was swiftly carried out. All six individuals were rescued and no serious injuries were reported.

St Cloud Police Department, who teamed up with Osceola County and others, said that a father and son who both work for the force were a crucial part of the operation. Bodycam footage shows the duo helping to rescue the stranded boaters.
