A father and son have appeared in court on accused of keeping a man as a slave for two years.
As well as the charges under the Modern Slavery Act, Harvey Baker, 19, and his father Anthony Howard Baker, 48, jointly face six charges of actual bodily harm to their alleged victim.
The South Wales pair, of Earlswood Cottage, Jersey Marine, Neath pleaded not guilty to the charges at Swansea Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
Prosecutor Abul Hussain said the Bakers’ alleged victim was kept as a slave and made to work without payment for two years.
The alleged victim, 20, is currently receiving hospital treatment and is being supported by officers and specialists services, South Wales Police said on Friday.
Magistrates remanded both men in custody ahead of an appearance at Swansea Crown Court on Monday.
