Fatal flaw in Coronation Street abuser Geoff's 'illegal' phone call to Yasmeen

Geoff Metcalfe will attempt to manipulate wife Yasmeen Nazir after stealing her granddaughter's phone tonight - but there is one major flaw in his new sinister plan which could see him on the other side of the prison bars.

Upon realising the majority of the residents have grown suspicious of him and bored of being unable to control Yasmeen, he stooped to a new low on Friday's Coronation Street episode.

After nicking Alya's phone, he contacted Yasmeen, who was terrified to hear his voice.

This evening, Geoff tells Yasmeen that he still loves her and is willing to forgive her and drop the charges if she agrees to be his wife again.

How will she react to his manipulative suggestion?

Later, he also calls at the police station to tell the officer that he wants to retract his statement and drop the charges against his wife.

But while he is able to decline to give a statement, the officer says that it is up to the CPS regarding the charges.

Will Yasmeen finally be able to get justice? (ITV)

Yet Geoff could find himself in a whole world of trouble for calling his wife when he was told he was not allowed to given the open investigation.

More so, calls to the the prison are generally recorded - meaning that Geoff's manipulative words to Yasmeen would have been recorded.

Could this error in judgement serve as Geoff's downfall and obtain justice for Yasmeen?

And could Geoff's sudden u-turn alert the police to what Geoff is really like?

*Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV
