Fatal fire in Paisley that killed three children 'not suspicious', police confirm

The cause of a house fire in Paisley in which three children died is not being treated as suspicious.

Fiona Gibson, 12, and her brothers Alexander James, eight, and five-year-old Philip passed away in hospital after they were pulled from the burning building when the blaze ripped through their flat on Renfrew Road on Friday night.

(Fiona and brother Alexander and James all tragically died following the blaze)

Their mum, Julie Daley, is currently being treated at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where her condition is now described as not life threatening.

Chief Inspector Rhona Fraser, area commander for Paisley, said: "My thoughts are with the family and the effect this has had on them and the local community.

"Officers remain at the address while enquiries continue. This is standard procedure and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
